तस्यानुविहितोऽनाथा नाथ पाहि प्रजाः प्रभो ॥ १७ ॥
tasyānuvihito’nāthā nātha pāhi prajāḥ prabho
Synonyms
tasmāt — therefore; bharatarṣabha — O best of the Bharata dynasty; vyavasya — ascertaining [niścitya59]; idam — all this [all these occurrences of happiness and distress (sukha-duḥkhādikam)60]; daiva-tantram — as subordinate to the will of Bhagavān [īśvarādīnam]; anuvihitaḥ — remain obedient [anuvartī san]; tasya — to Him [īśvarasya]; nātha — O guardian of the family lineage [kula-paramparāgata svāmin]; prabho — O competent master [samartha]; pāhi — protect; prajāḥ — the citizens; anāthāḥ — who are without shelter [who are without any guardian other than you (tvad-vyatirikta-rakṣaka-rahitāḥ)61].
Translation
Therefore, O best of the Bharata dynasty, ascertaining all these occurrences as subordinate to the will of Bhagavān, remain obedient to Him. O guardian of the family lineage! O competent master! Protect the citizens, who are without shelter.
