भारावतारणायान्ये भुवो नाव इवोदधौ ।
सीदन्त्या भूरिभारेण जातो ह्यात्मभुवार्थितः ॥ ३४ ॥

bhārāvatāraṇāyānye bhuvo nāva ivodadhau
sīdantyā bhūri-bhāreṇa jāto hy ātma-bhuvārthitaḥ

Synonyms
anye — others; [propose as primary (prādhānya vivakṣayā matāntaram)128]; jātaḥ hi — [that] You verily appeared; arthitaḥ — on being petitioned [prārthitaḥ129]; ātma-bhuvā — by the “self-born” [Brahmā130]; bhāra-avatāraṇāya — to re- lieve the burden; bhuvaḥ — of the earth; [which was oppressed (sīdantyāḥ, kliśyantyāḥ)131]; iva — like; nāvaḥ — a boat; udadhau — on the ocean [arṇave132]; sīdantyāḥ — sinking; bhūri-bhāreṇa — due to excessive weight.
Translation
Others propose [as primary] that You verily appeared on being petitioned by the “self-born” Brahmā, to relieve the burden of the earth, which was oppressed like a boat on the ocean sinking due to excessive weight.
