SB 1.8.29

न वेद कश्चिद्भगवंश्चिकीर्षितं तवेहमानस्य नृणां विडम्बनम् ।
न यस्य कश्चिद्दयितोऽस्ति कर्हिचिद्द्वेष्यश्च यस्मिन्विषमा मतिर्नृणाम् ॥ २९ ॥
na veda kaścid bhagavaṁś cikīrṣitaṁ
tavehamānasya nṛṇāṁ viḍambanam
na yasya kaścid dayito’sti karhicid
dveṣyaś ca yasmin viṣamā matir nṛṇām

Synonyms

bhagavan — O Bhagavān; na kaścit — no one; veda — knows [jānāti109]; tava cikīrṣitam — what You intend to do [kartum iṣṭam110]; īhamānasya — while You act [kurvataḥ111]; viḍambanam — disguised as [resembling or imitating (anukaraṇam)]; nṛṇām — a human being; na kaścit — no one [at all (kaścid api), at any time whatsoever (karhicit kadācid api)112]; asti — is; karhicit — ever; dayitaḥ — dear [priyaḥ113]; ca — and [i.e., or]; dveṣyaḥ — detestable; yasya — of [i.e., to] You [tava114]; yasmin — upon whom [tvayi]; matiḥ — the attitude; viṣamā — [of] bias [of favor and disfavor (anugraha-nigraha)]; nṛṇām — belonging to human beings; [is mistakenly projected (bhrāntir bhavati)115].

Translation

O Bhagavān! No one knows what You intend to do while You act disguised as a human being. No one is ever dear or detestable to You, upon whom the attitude of bias belonging to human beings is mistakenly projected.
