SB 1.8.25

विपदः सन्तु नः शश्वत्तत्र तत्र जगद्गुरो ।
भवतो दर्शनं यत्स्यादपुनर्भवदर्शनम् ॥ २५ ॥
vipadaḥ santu naḥ śaśvat tatra tatra jagad-guro
bhavato darśanaṁ yat syād apunar bhava-darśanam

Synonyms

jagat-guro — O Guru of the Universe [who, by virtue of being the benefactor of all (hita-kāritvena), and impelled by the arising of compassion (kṛpottha), ar- range for calamities to bestow blessings (vipadañjana-pradānena sampat)90]; santu — may there be; vipadaḥ — calamities; naḥ — for us [asmākam91]; śaśvat — continuously [sadā92]; tatra tatra — in all these various circumstances; [so that]; yat — in the midst [of such calamities (yāsu vipatsu)93]; darśanam — the vision; bhavataḥ — of You; syāt — may be [granted to us]; [by which darśana (yasmāt)94]; bhava-darśanam — the vision of worldly existence [the misery of cyclic existence (saṁsāra-duḥkha)95]; apunaḥ — [may] never be repeated again [punar api nāsti96].

Translation

O Guru of the Universe! May calamities continuously befall us in all these various circumstances, so that in the midst of such calamities, the vision of You may be granted to us, by which the vision of worldly existence may never be repeated again.
