mā maṁsthā hy etad āścaryaṁ sarvāścaryamaye’cyute
ya idaṁ māyayā devyā sṛjaty avati hanty ajaḥ

Synonyms

mā maṁsthāḥ hi — you should certainly not think [na manyasva60]; etat — [of] this [the diffusion of the brahmāstra weapon by His Sudarśana disc (sudarśanena brahmāstra-śamanam)61]; āścaryam — as astonishing; acyute — for Acyuta [Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who, by His essential nature and by His intrinsic potency, is never subject to failure or defeat (acyute svarūpataḥ śaktitaś ca cyuti-rahite)]; sarva-āścarya-maye — the very embodiment of all wonders [abundantly self-endowed with infinite potencies that are productive of all wonders (āścarya-janakānanta-śakti pracure)]; yaḥ — who; ajaḥ — while personally unborn [(svayam ajaḥ), meaning that He is not under the influence of karma and is bereft of the six transformations beginning with birth (karmādhina-janmādi-ṣaḍ-vikāra-rahita eva)]; sṛjati — evolves [utpādayati]; avati — sustains [rakṣati]; hanti — [and] dissolves [upasaṁharati ca]; idam — this [cosmos (viśvam)]; devyā — by His divine; māyayā — extrinsic potency [which is transrational in nature (acintya-śaktyā)]; [the sense is that for He who evolves and sustains the entire cosmos as a mere play, of what significance is the act of counteracting a brahmāstra weapon with His Sudarśana disc such that it should give rise to astonishment? (sakala-jagat-sṛṣṭi-sthiti-līlasya kiyad etat sudarśanena brahmāstra-nivāraṇaṁ yenāścaryaṁ kāryam iti bhāvaḥ)].

Translation

You should certainly not think of this as astonishing for Acyuta [Śrī Kṛṣṇa], the very embodiment of all wonders, who, while personally unborn, evolves, sustains, and dissolves this cosmos by His divine extrinsic potency (māyā).
