SB 1.6.3

स्वायम्भुव कया वृत्त्या वर्तितं ते परं वयः ।
कथं चेदमुदस्राक्षीः काले प्राप्ते कलेवरम् ॥ ३ ॥
svāyambhuva kayā vṛttyā vartitaṁ te paraṁ vayaḥ
kathaṁ cedam udasrākṣīḥ kāle prāpte kalevaram

Synonyms

svāyambhuva — O son of Brahmā; kayā — by what; vṛttyā — manner of existence [jīvikayā7]; param vayaḥ — [was your] subsequent life [uttaram āyuḥ8]; vartitam — spent [nītam]; te — by you [tvayā]; ca — and; katham — how; udasrākṣīḥ — did you give up [utsṛṣṭavān asi]; idam — this; kalevaram — body [as the son of a maidservant (dāsī-putra-bhūtam)]; kāle — when the time [of death (maraṇa-kāle)9]; prāpte — arrived.

Translation

O son of Brahmā, in what manner of existence did you spend the rest of your life, and how did you give up your body when the time of death arrived?
