अपश्यन्सहसोत्तस्थे वैक्लव्याद्दुर्मना इव ॥ १९ ॥
apaśyan sahasottasthe vaiklavyād durmanā iva
Synonyms
sahasā — suddenly [jhaṭity eva65]; apaśyan — being bereft of the vision; tat — [of] that; rūpam — form; bhagavataḥ — of Bhagavān; yat — which; manaḥ-kāntam — [is] cherished by the mind [manasaḥ kāntam abhīṣṭam66]; śucā-apaham — [and] dispels all grief [śokas tām apahantīti tathā tat67]; uttasthe — I was aroused from my meditative state [(dhyānād vyutthitavān asmi); (uthito’smi);68]; vaiklavyāt — out of agitation [vyākulatvāt]; durmanāḥ — [being] troubled in mind; iva — like [a person who has obtained and then lost a valuable treasure (yathā prāpta-cyuta-nidhir-jano durmanā bhavati tathaivety arthaḥ)69].
Translation
Being suddenly bereft of the vision of that form of Bhagavān, which is cherished by the mind and dispels all grief, I was aroused from my meditative state out of agitation, being troubled in mind like [a person who has obtained and then lost a valuable treasure].
