Translation
O [Vyāsa] of infallible vision, through self-reflection, you should know yourself to be a partial manifestation of the Supreme Puruṣa, the Immanent Self of all creation, and, although unborn, as having taken birth for the benefit of the world. Therefore, you should describe in detail the magnificent acts of [Śrī Kṛṣṇa], whose majesty is supreme above all.
