SB 1.4.22

अथर्वाङ्गिरसामासीत्सुमन्तुर्दारुणो मुनिः ।
इतिहासपुराणानां पिता मे रोमहर्षणः ॥ २२ ॥
atharvāṅgirasām āsīt sumantur dāruṇo muniḥ
itihāsa-purāṇānāṁ pitā me romaharṣaṇaḥ

Synonyms

muniḥ — the sage; sumantuḥ — Sumantu; dāruṇaḥ — who was severe by nature [(krūra-svabhāvatvena);90 because of his involvement with the malevolent incantations belonging to the Atharva Veda (atharva-veda-ukta abhicārādi pravṛtteḥ)91]; [niṣṇātaḥ92] āsīt — was accomplished; atharva-aṅgirasām — of [i.e., in] the Atharva Veda; me — [while] my; pitā — father; romaharṣaṇaḥ — Romaharṣaṇa; [was adept (niṣṇātaḥ āsīt)]; itihāsa-purāṇānām — of [i.e., in] the Itihāsas and Purāṇas.

Translation

Sumantu Muni, who was severe by nature, was accomplished in the Atharva Veda, while my father, Romaharṣaṇa, was adept in the Itihāsas and Purāṇas.
