प्रायोपविष्टो गङ्गायामनादृत्याधिराट्श्रियम् ॥ १० ॥
prāyopaviṣṭo gaṅgāyām anādṛtyādhirāṭ-śriyam

Translation
For what reason did this emperor, who enhanced the prestige of the Pāṇḍu dynasty, discard his luxurious royal wealth and sit with a vow to fast till death on the bank of the Gaṅgā?
