SB 1.2.22

अतो वै कवयो नित्यं भक्तिं परमया मुदा ।
वासुदेवे भगवति कुर्वन्त्यात्मप्रसादनीम् ॥ २२ ॥
ato vai kavayo nityaṁ bhaktiṁ paramayā mudā
vāsudeve bhagavati kurvanty ātma-prasādanīm

Synonyms

ataḥ — for this reason; vai — indeed; kavayaḥ — the enlightened sages [those highly skilled in discerning the means to the ultimate good (vivekino niratiśaya-śreyas tat-sādhanābhijñāḥ)91]; paramayā mudā — out of supreme delight [(harṣeṇaiva);92 meaning that unlike the practice of karma, bhakti is not troublesome to perform, whether in the stage of practice (sādhana-kāle) or perfection (sādhya-kāle) — rather, it is exclusively of the nature of bliss (sukha-rūpam eva)93]; nityam — continuously [both in the stage of practice and perfection (sādhaka-daśāyāṁ siddha-daśāyāñ ca)]; kurvanti — engage; bhaktim — [in] devotion; bhagavati — to Bhagavān; vāsudeve — Vāsudeva [Śrī Kṛṣṇa]; prasādanīm — [which is] utterly fulfilling; ātma — [to] the self [or which is the cause of the pleasure of the Supreme Self (ātma-prasādanīṁ paramātmanaḥ prasāda-hetu-bhūtām)94].

Translation

For this reason, indeed, the enlightened sages, out of supreme delight, continuously engage in bhakti to Bhagavān Vāsudeva, which is utterly fulfilling to the self.
