क्षीयन्ते चास्य कर्माणि दृष्ट एवात्मनीश्वरे ॥ २१ ॥
kṣīyante cāsya karmāṇi dṛṣṭa evātmanīśvare

dṛṣṭe eva — precisely upon the immediate perception [(sākṣātkṛte eva), the emphatic particle eva here indicates that the results now spoken of occur only after the attainment of such direct visioning capacity (eva-kāreṇa jñānānantaram eva)84]; īśvare — [of] Īśvara [Bhagavān (bhagavati)85]; ātmani86 — as He is in His own essential being [(svarūpa-bhūte); or as the Immanent Self of all beings (paramātmani)87]; hṛdaya-granthiḥ — the knot of ego in the heart [that binds spirit to matter (cij-jaḍa-granthana-rūpo’haṅkāraḥ)]; asya — of such a realized person [draṣṭuḥ puruṣasya88]; bhidyate — is pierced; sarva — all; saṁśayāḥ — doubts [arising out of the misidentification of the self with the body and senses (dehendriyādy ātmābhimāna-rūpāḥ)89]; chidyante — are cut asunder; ca — and; karmāṇi — the reaction to all karma [the latent or immature effects of previous actions that perpetuate the self’s misidentification with the body (dehādy ātmābhimāna-hetukāny anārabdha-phalāni)90]; kṣīyante — is nullified.
Translation
Precisely coinciding with the immediate perception of Īśvara as He is in His own essential being, the knot of ego in the heart of such a realized person is pierced, all doubts are cut asunder, and the reaction to all karma is nullified.
