स्यात्सम्भ्रमोऽन्तकालेऽपि स्मरतां तत्पदाम्बुजम् ॥ ४ ॥
syāt sambhramo’nta-kāle’pi smaratāṁ tat-padāmbujam
Synonyms
[And the state of being exhibited by him is not at all astonishing, as expressed in the following verse (na caitac citram ity āhaḥ).22]; vārtānām — of [i.e., for] those whose very source of life [vārtā jīvana-hetur yeṣāṁ teṣām23]; uttama-śloka — [is] Śrī Kṛṣṇa [who is praised in choice poetry]; [nityam] juṣatām — who [constantly] relish [or reverently partake of (sevamānānām)24]; tat-kathā-amṛtam — the immortal nectar of His narrations [(tat kathā-rūpam amṛtam); or the immortal nectar of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s divine play (śrī kṛṣṇa-līlāmṛtam)25]; smaratām — [and] who remember; tat — His; pada-ambujam — lotus feet; sambhramaḥ — bewilderment [(mohaḥ) or fear (bhayam vā)26]; na syāt — never occurs [naiva bhavati27]; api — even; kāle — at the time; anta — [of] death [maraṇa-samaye’pi28].
Translation
Those whose very source of life is Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who constantly relish the immortal nectar of His narrations, and who remember His lotus feet, are never subject to bewilderment even at the time of death.
