ज्ञानेन वैयासकिशब्दितेन भेजे खगेन्द्रध्वजपादमूलम् ॥ १६ ॥
yenāpavargākhyam adabhra-buddhiḥ
jñānena vaiyāsaki-śabditena
bheje khagendra-dhvaja-pāda-mūlam
Synonyms
yena jñānena — by virtue of the wisdom teachings [or the wisdom practice (jñāna-sādhanena);128 but not the wisdom practice that proceeds exclusively through refinement of the intellective faculty (na buddhi-rūpaṁ jñānaṁ sādhanam), rather the jñāna disclosed by Vaiyāsaki, which pertains directly to Bhagavān or which is known as Śrīmad Bhāgavata (bhāgavat-ākhyaṁ jñānam), is eternally self-existent (nityaṁ siddham eva) and, hence, merely brought to light through its vocalization by way of Vaiyāsaki (vaiyāsakinā śukena kevalaṁ śabditam uccaritam)129]; śabditena — disclosed [kathitena130]; vaiyāsaki — [by] the son of Vyāsa, Śukadeva; saḥ vai — that same [of the nature previously described (ukta-vidhaḥ)131]; mahā-bhāgavataḥ — exalted devotee; parīkṣit — Parīkṣit; adabhra — of undiminished [of not insignificant (analpa);132 or in other words, of acute (mahatī)133]; buddhiḥ — intuitive insight; bheje — attained [prāptaḥ134]; khaga-indra-dhvaja — Bhagavān Hari’s [He whose flag bears the insignia of Garuḍa (khagendra-dhvajasya hareḥ)135]; pāda-mūlam — lotus feet; apavarga-ākhyam — [which are] synonymous with liberation [(mokṣa ity ākhyā yasya tat);136 or which are denoted by the word liberation (apavarga-śabdenocyate)137].
Translation
By virtue of the wisdom teachings disclosed by the son of Vyāsa, Śukadeva, that same exalted devotee Parīkṣit, of undiminished intuitive insight, attained Bhagavān Hari’s lotus feet, which are synonymous with liberation.
