SB 1.17.4

पप्रच्छ रथमारूढः कार्तस्वरपरिच्छदम् ।
मेघगम्भीरया वाचा समारोपितकार्मुकः ॥ ४ ॥
papraccha ratham ārūḍhaḥ kārtasvara-paricchadam
megha-gambhīrayā vācā samāropita-kārmukaḥ

Synonyms

ārūḍhaḥ — mounted; ratham — on a chariot; paricchadam — inlaid [nibaddham25]; kārtasvara — [with] gold [suvarṇam26]; samāropita — [and] stringing [sajjīkṛta27]; kārmukaḥ — his bow [(dhanuḥ);28 suspecting that Kali might try to flee (kaleḥ palāyanāśaṅkayā)29]; [he, King Parīkṣit (sa parīkṣit)]; papraccha — questioned; [the vile śūdra (taṁ vṛṣalam)30]; vācā — [in a thundering] voice [(girā); that could dispel at once the most severely afflicted sorrow (tapta-santāpa-nivartikayā)31]; megha-gambhīrayā — as deep as the rumbling of clouds [megha-garjita-vad gambhīrayā].

Translation

Mounted on a chariot inlaid with gold and stringing his bow, King Parīkṣit questioned the vile śūdra in a thundering voice, as deep as the rumbling of clouds.
