SB 1.16.19

धर्म उवाच
कच्चिद्भद्रेऽनामयमात्मनस्ते विच्छायासि म्लायतेषन्मुखेन ।
आलक्षये भवतीमन्तराधिं दूरे बन्धुं शोचसि कञ्चनाम्ब ॥ १९ ॥
dharma uvāca
kaccid bhadre’nāmayam ātmanas te
vicchāyāsi mlāyateṣan mukhena
ālakṣaye bhavatīm antarādhiṁ
dūre bandhuṁ śocasi kañcanāmba

Synonyms

dharmaḥ — Dharma; uvāca — inquired; bhadre — O auspicious one; kaccit — is [kim62]; te — your [tava63]; ātmanaḥ — physical body [dehasya64]; anāmayam — endowed with good health [lit., “free from disease” (ārogyam)65]; [since (yataḥ)]; vicchāyā asi — you are pale of appearance; mukhena — [and] your face; īṣat — is somewhat; mlāyatā — withered [vaivarṇyaṁ bhajatā]; ālakṣaye — I suspect [or infer (tarkayāmi)66]; bhavatīm — [that] you [tvām]; antarādhim — must be experiencing agony in your heart [antar-madhye ādhiḥ pīḍāḥ yasyās tām]; amba — O Mother; [kim67] śocasi — are you grieving; kañcana — [for] some; dūre — distant; bandhum — relative.

Translation

Dharma inquired: O auspicious one, is your physical body endowed with good health? Since you are pale of appearance and your face is somewhat withered, I suspect that you must be experiencing agony in your heart. O Mother, are you grieving for some distant relative?
