SB 1.15.44

अनवेक्षमाणो निरगादशृण्वन्बधिरो यथा ।
उदीचीं प्रविवेशाशां गतपूर्वां महात्मभिः ।
हृदि ब्रह्म परं ध्यायन्नावर्तेत यतो गतः ॥ ४४ ॥
anavekṣamāṇo niragād aśṛṇvan badhiro yathā
udīcīṁ praviveśāśāṁ gata-pūrvāṁ mahātmabhiḥ
hṛdi brahma paraṁ dhyāyan nāvarteta yato gataḥ

Synonyms

niragāt — he left [the palace (gṛhād iti śeṣaḥ)259]; anavekṣamāṇaḥ — without waiting for or looking to anyone [his younger brothers and others (anujādi-pratīkṣām akurvan);260 or without glancing here and there (itas tato’nava-lokayan);261 as if blind (andha iva)262]; aśṛṇvan — [and] without hearing [the words of others (anya-vacanam)263]; yathā — as if; badhiraḥ — deaf; dhyāyan — [while] meditating; brahma-param — on the Supreme Brahman [Śrī Kṛṣṇa264]; hṛdi — within his heart; praviveśa — he set out; udīcīm — for the northern; āśām — direction [diśam]; gata-pūrvām — [the path] previously tread upon [pūrvaṁ praviṣṭām]; mahā-ātmabhiḥ — by highly realized beings [(mahānubhāvaiḥ);265 those of refined discernment (vivekavadbhiḥ); or by great souls among the warrior clan (kṣatriyair mahātmabhiḥ)266]; yataḥ — [and] from whence; gataḥ — having once gone; na āvarteta — one does not return.

Translation

He left the palace without waiting for anyone and without hearing the words of others, as if deaf. While meditating on the Supreme Brahman [Śrī Kṛṣṇa] within his heart, he set out for the northern direction, the path previously tread upon by highly realized beings, and from whence, having once gone, one does not return.
