Translation
In the same manner, he also enthroned Vajra [the son of Aniruddha] as the king of Śūrasena in Mathurā. Thereafter, having performed the Prājāpatya sacrifice [in which all of one’s possessions are offered in preparation to leave home], Yudhiṣṭhira, who was competent [to renounce the kingdom and adopt the life of mendicancy], consigned to his own self the householder’s perpetual sacred fires.
