Translation

Restraining with great difficulty the tears of grief [that welled up] in his eyes and wiping with his hands [the tears that glided down his face], Arjuna felt greatly distressed out of intense longing born of love due to Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s having passed beyond his vision. Remembering the friendship, benevolence, and kindheartedness displayed by Kṛṣṇa in the matter of His becoming his chariot driver and other roles, Arjuna addressed his elder brother, King Yudhiṣṭhira, in a voice choked with tears as follows.
