यथा क्रीडोपस्कराणां संयोगविगमाविह ।
इच्छया क्रीडितुः स्यातां तथैवेशेच्छया नृणाम् ॥ ४२ ॥

yathā krīḍopaskarāṇāṁ saṁyoga-vigamāv iha
icchayā krīḍituḥ syātāṁ tathaiveśecchayā nṛṇām

Synonyms
yathā — just as; iha — in this world [loke136]; saṁyoga-vigamau — the conjunction and disjunction; krīḍa-upaskarāṇām — of the implements required for play [such as dice (krīḍā-sādhanānām akṣādīnām)137]; syātām — occur; icchayā — by the will; krīḍituḥ — of the player; tathā eva — so too; [the conjunction and disjunction (saṁyoga-vigamau)138]; nṛṇām — of human beings; [transpire (syātām)]; icchayā — by the will; īśa — [of] Īśvara.
Translation
Just as, in this world, the conjunction and disjunction of the implements required for play occur by the will of the player, so too the conjunction and disjunction of human beings transpire by the will of Īśvara.
