SB 1.13.34

सूत उवाच
कृपया स्नेहवैक्लव्यात्सूतो विरहकर्शितः ।
आत्मेश्वरमचक्षाणो न प्रत्याहातिपीडितः ॥ ३४ ॥
sūta uvāca
kṛpayā sneha-vaiklavyāt sūto viraha-karśitaḥ
ātmeśvaram acakṣāṇo na pratyāhātipīḍitaḥ

Synonyms

sūtaḥ — Śrī Sūta; uvāca — continued; ati-pīḍitaḥ — feeling greatly afflicted [duḥkhitaḥ110]; kṛpayā — out of compassion [thinking: “What will become of my poor old blind master who has wandered off?” (vṛddhasya netra-hīnasya nirgatasya kā gatir bhaviṣyatīty ālocanena)111]; sneha-vaiklavyāt — [and] from the anxiety born of affection [or familial love (snehena vyākulatvaṁ tasmāt)]; karśitaḥ — [and] having become emaciated [kṛṣīkṛtaḥ]; viraha — [due to] the pangs of separation [viraheṇa]; acakṣāṇaḥ — at not seeing [apaśyan]; ātma-īśvaram — his master [svasya svāminaṁ dhṛtarāṣṭram]; sūtaḥ — Sañjaya; na pratyāha — could not reply [praty uttaraṁ na dattavān].

Translation

Śrī Sūta continued: Feeling greatly afflicted out of compassion and from the anxiety born of familial love, and having become emaciated due to the pangs of separation at not seeing his master, Sañjaya could not reply.
