SB 1.13.26
हृदि कृत्वा हरिं गेहात्प्रव्रजेत्स नरोत्तमः ॥ २६ ॥
hṛdi kṛtvā hariṁ gehāt pravrajet sa narottamaḥ
Synonyms
saḥ — one; yaḥ — who; svakāt — by his own deliberation [svata eva81]; parataḥ vā — or by another’s instruction [paropadeśato vā]; jāta-nirvedaḥ — has developed dispassion [jāto vairāgyam82]; iha — in regard to worldly existence [(saṁsāre), in the matter of desires for wealth, children, community, and so on (dhana-putra-lokādāv icchā-viṣaye)]; ātmavān — [who] has realized the Self [who has directly intuited the truth of the individual self and the Supreme Self (vijñātātma-paramātma-tattvaḥ)]; kṛtvā — [and who] having installed [sthirīkṛtya]; harim — Bhagavān Hari [who removes the material miseries of His surrendered devotees (āśritānāṁ saṁsāra-duḥkha-haraṁ bhagavantam)]; hṛdi — in his heart; [by meditation (dhyānena)]; pravrajet — leaves [nirgacchet]; gehāt — from home; nara-uttamaḥ83 — [is] the foremost of human beings [in this regard, a person who adopts the life of renunciation out of suffering or a diseased condition (ātura-sannyāsī), as shown in the previous verse, is known as a dhīra, whereas one who does so out of true discernment (sad-vivekena), by surrender to Bhagavān (bhagavac charaṇatayā), is known as a narottama. This gradation in the two verses is to be understood (iti tāratamyaṁ jñeyam)84].
Translation
One who, by his own deliberation or by another’s instruction, has developed dispassion in regard to worldly existence, who has realized the Self, and who, having installed Bhagavān Hari in his heart [by meditation], leaves home, is the foremost of human beings.
