SB 1.13.25
अविज्ञातगतिर्जह्यात्स वै धीर उदाहृतः ॥ २५ ॥
avijñāta-gatir jahyāt sa vai dhīra udāhṛtaḥ
Synonyms
saḥ — one; [who (yaḥ)76]; viraktaḥ — [is] devoid of attachment; mukta-bandh-anaḥ — freed from bondage [to ego (tyaktābhimānaḥ);77 or of attachment to wealth, children, and so on (tyakta-dhana-putrādiḥ)78]; avijñāta-gatiḥ — [and who] unknown to others [whose destination is unknown to others, who thus question, “Where did he go?” (kva gata ity avijñātā gatir yasya)]; jahyāt — casts aside [tyajet79]; imam — this; deham — body; gata-sva-artham — that is now stripped of its value [deprived of its glory, virtue, and so on (yaśo-dharmādi śūnyam)]; vai — [is] indeed [niścitam]; udāhṛtaḥ — declared to be [or exemplified as, by those who have realized the truth (tattva-jñair udāharaṇe pradarśitaḥ)80]; dhīraḥ — a person of wisdom [whose attainment of liberation is assured by tolerating the miseries that are presently arising (prāpta-duḥkhasya svayam sahanena mukti-prāpteḥ vai niścitam)].
Translation
One who is devoid of attachment, freed from bondage to ego, and who, unknown to others, casts aside this body that is now stripped of its value, is indeed declared to be a person of wisdom.
