SB 1.13.22

अहो महीयसी जन्तोर्जीविताशा यया भवान् ।
भीमापवर्जितं पिण्डमादत्ते गृहपालवत् ॥ २२ ॥
aho mahīyasī jantor jīvitāśā yayā bhavān
bhīmāpavarjitaṁ piṇḍam ādatte gṛha-pālavat

Synonyms

aho — oh; mahīyasī — [how] exceedingly powerful [atiśayena mahatī59]; jantoḥ — [is] the living being’s [jīvasya]; jīvita-āśā — will to survive; yayā — by which [craving for life (jīvita-āśayā)]; bhavān — you; gṛha-pāla-vat — like a household dog [gṛha-pālaḥ śvā iva60]; ādatte — accept [svīkaroti]; piṇḍam — food [annam61]; apavarjitam — cast aside [or offered insultingly (paribhūya dattam)]; bhīma — [by] Bhīma [by your enemy (śatrūṇā); by whom your sons were killed (yena putrā hatāḥ tena bhīmena)62].63

Translation

Oh! How exceedingly powerful is the living being’s will to survive, by which craving, you, like a household dog, accept food cast aside by Bhīma!
