SB 1.13.17

एवं गृहेषु सक्तानां प्रमत्तानां तदीहया ।
अत्यक्रामदविज्ञातः कालः परमदुस्तरः ॥ १७ ॥
evaṁ gṛheṣu saktānāṁ pramattānāṁ tad-īhayā
atyakrāmad avijñātaḥ kālaḥ parama-dustaraḥ

Synonyms

parama — supremely; dustaraḥ — indomitable; kālaḥ — time [whose impetuosity cannot be checked even by the likes of Brahmā (brahmādibhir apy apratihata-vegaḥ)41]; avijñātaḥ — imperceptibly; atyakrāmat — overcame [abhyabhavat42]; saktānām — those who were attached; evam — in this manner [ukta-prakāreṇa]; gṛheṣu — in [i.e., to] their homes; pramattānām — [and] who were intoxicated [who had forgotten their essential duty (vismṛta-kartavyānām)]; tat-īhayā — due to involvement in family affairs [gṛha-vyāpāreṇa43].

Translation

Supremely indomitable time imperceptibly overcame those who were attached in this manner to their homes and who were intoxicated due to involvement in family affairs.
