जम्बूद्वीपाधिपत्यं च यशश्च त्रिदिवं गतम् ॥ ५ ॥
jambūdvīpādhipatyaṁ ca yaśaś ca tri-divaṁ gatam
Synonyms
sampadaḥ — [he possessed] vast wealth; kratavaḥ — [had performed] many sacrifices [such as the aśvamedha9]; lokāḥ — that assured his place in the celestial abodes [tad-upārjitā lokāḥ10]; [and was surrounded]; mahiṣī — [by devoted] queens [such as Draupadī]; bhrātaraḥ — [and] brothers; mahī — [he enjoyed an undisputed kingdom] on earth [niṣkaṇṭakā pṛthvī]; ādhipatyam ca — sovereignty [rājyam]; jambū-dvīpa — over the continent of Jambūdvīpa; ca — and; yaśaḥ — fame; gatam — [that] extended; tri-divam — throughout the three worlds [svarga-paryanta-vyāptam].
Translation
He possessed vast wealth, had performed many sacrifices that assured his place in the celestial abodes, and was surrounded by devoted queens and brothers. He enjoyed an undisputed kingdom on earth, sovereignty over the continent of Jambūdvīpa, and fame that extended throughout the three worlds.
