तक्षकादात्मनो मृत्युं द्विजपुत्रोपसर्जितात् ।
प्रपत्स्यत उपश्रुत्य मुक्तसङ्गः पदं हरेः ॥ २७ ॥

takṣakād ātmano mṛtyuṁ dvija-putropasarjitāt
prapatsyata upaśrutya mukta-saṅgaḥ padaṁ hareḥ

Synonyms
upaśrutya — after hearing [ākarṇya73]; ātmanaḥ — of his own [svasya]; mṛtyum — death [maraṇam]; takṣakāt — from the bite of the snake Takṣaka; upasarjitāt — invoked [by the curse (śāpa-dvārā niyojitāt)]; dvija-putra — [of] a brāhmaṇa’s son [the son of sage Śamīka, named Śṛṅgi74]; mukta-saṅgaḥ — [he will] give up all attachment [to the body and its relations (deha-tad-anubandhiṣu saṅgaḥ)]; prapatsyate — [and] surrender; padam — at the feet [or attain the abode (sthānaṁ prāpsyati)75]; hareḥ — of Hari [Śrī Kṛṣṇa].
Translation
After hearing of his own death from the bite of the snake Takṣaka, invoked by the curse of a brāhmaṇa’s son, he will give up all attachment and surrender at the feet of Hari, Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
