मृगेन्द्र इव विक्रान्तो निषेव्यो हिमवानिव ।
तितिक्षुर्वसुधेवासौ सहिष्णुः पितराविव ॥ २२ ॥

titikṣur vasudhevāsau sahiṣṇuḥ pitarāv iva

Synonyms
asau — this [child (śiśuḥ)58]; [will be (bhaviṣyati)]; vikrāntaḥ — valorous [parākramī]; mṛgendraḥ iva — like a lion [siṁha]; niṣevyaḥ — an abode worthy of shelter [for the sādhus (satāṁ niṣevyaḥ)59]; himavān iva — like the Himālayas; titikṣuḥ — forbearing [kṣāntaḥ]; vasudhā iva — like the earth [by virtue of being without any other resort (ananya-gatikatvena)]; sahiṣṇuḥ — [and] tolerant; pitarau iva — like kindhearted parents [out of love (prītyā mātā-pitarāv iva)].
Translation
This child will be valorous like a lion, an abode worthy of shelter like the Himālayas, forbearing like the earth, and tolerant like kindhearted parents.
