SB 1.12.20

एष दाता शरण्यश्च यथा ह्यौशीनरः शिबिः ।
यशो वितनिता स्वानां दौष्यन्तिरिव यज्वनाम् ॥ २० ॥
eṣa dātā śaraṇyaś ca yathā hy auśīnaraḥ śibiḥ
yaśo vitanitā svānāṁ dauṣyantir iva yajvanām

Synonyms

yathā hi — like; śibiḥ — Śibi; auśīnaraḥ — the king of Uśīnara [uśīnara-deśādhi-patiḥ53]; eṣaḥ — he; [will be (bhaviṣyati)54]; dātā — a bestower of charity [to the extent of offering his own body (sva-deha-paryanta-samarpakaḥ)]; ca — and; śaraṇyaḥ — a protector of those who seek his shelter [as Śibi was a protector to the dove who sought his shelter (śaraṇāgataḥ kapoto rakṣitaḥ)]; dauṣyantih iva — [and] like the son of Duṣyanta [Bharata]; vitanitā — [he will be] a proliferator [vistārakaḥ]; yaśaḥ — [of] the fame; svānām — of his own kinsmen [(jñātīnām); or of those appearing in his dynasty (sva-vaṁśa-janyānām)55]; yajvanām — [and] of the [brāhmaṇas] who perform sacrifices.

Translation

Like Śibi, the king of Uśīnara, he will be charitable and a protector of those who seek his shelter; and like Bharata, the son of Duṣyanta, he will spread the fame of his dynasty and of the [brāhmaṇas] who perform sacrifices.
