त्वं सद्गुरुर्नः परमं च दैवतं यस्यानुवृत्त्या कृतिनो बभूविम ॥ ७ ॥
tvam eva mātātha suhṛt-patiḥ pitā
tvaṁ sad-gurur naḥ paramaṁ ca daivataṁ
yasyānuvṛttyā kṛtino babhūvima
Synonyms
viśva-bhāvana — O Originating Source of the Cosmos [viśvaṁ jagat bhāvayati23]; tvam bhava — may You; bhavāya — bring about well-being [udbhavāya24]; naḥ — for us [asmākam]; atha — since [yataḥ25]; tvam eva — You alone [are]; naḥ — our; mātā — mother; suhṛt — benefactor; patiḥ — master; pitā — [and] father; tvam — You [are]; [our]; sat-guruḥ — true spiritual guide; ca — and; paramam — supreme; daivatam — Deity; anuvṛttyā — by the service [(anugamanena); (sevayaiva)26]; yasya — of whom; [we (vayam)]; babhūvima — have become; kṛtinaḥ — completely fulfilled [(kṛtārthāḥ); in all our endeavors (svanuṣṭhita-sarva-sādhanāḥ)27].
Translation
O Originating Source of the Cosmos, may You grant us well-being, since You alone are our mother, benefactor, master, and father. You are our true spiritual guide and supreme Deity, by the service of whom, we have become completely fulfilled.
