SB 1.11.18
शङ्खतूर्यनिनादेन ब्रह्मघोषेण चादृताः ।
प्रत्युज्जग्मू रथैर्हृष्टाः प्रणयागतसाध्वसाः ॥ १८ ॥
śaṅkha-tūrya-ninādena brahma-ghoṣeṇa cādṛtāḥ
pratyujjagmū rathair hṛṣṭāḥ praṇayāgata-sādhvasāḥ
Synonyms
ādṛtāḥ — filled with reverence [sādarāḥ53]; hṛṣṭāḥ — overcome with delight; sādhvasāḥ — [and] perturbed [saṁbhramo yeṣāṁ te54]; praṇayāgata — out of love [snehena āgatam]; ujjagmuḥ — they proceeded hurriedly; rathaiḥ — on their chariots; prati — toward [Śrī Kṛṣṇa]; puraskṛtya — placing in front [purataḥ kṛtvā]; vāraṇa-indram — the best of elephants [(hasti-śreṣṭham);55 as a sign of auspiciousness (maṅgalārtham)]; brāhmaṇaiḥ — [and accompanied] by brāhmaṇas; sa-sumaṅgalaiḥ — carrying auspicious items [such as flowers (puṣpādi tad-yukta-pāṇibhiḥ)]; ninādena — along with the resounding; śaṅkha — [of] conches; tūrya — [and] trumpets; ca — and; brahma-ghoṣeṇa — with the recitation of Vedic hymns [mantra-pāṭhaḥ].
Translation
Filled with reverence, overcome with delight, and perturbed out of love, they proceeded hurriedly on their chariots toward Śrī Kṛṣṇa, placing the best of elephants in front [as a sign of auspiciousness] and accompanied by brāhmaṇas carrying auspicious items, along with the resounding of conches and trumpets and the recitation of Vedic hymns.
