ततो युधिष्ठिरो गत्वा सहकृष्णो गजाह्वयम् ।
पितरं सान्त्वयामास गान्धारीं च तपस्विनीम् ॥ ४८ ॥

Synonyms
tataḥ — thereafter [tad-anantaram180]; yudhiṣṭhiraḥ — Yudhiṣṭhira; saha-kṛṣṇaḥ — accompanied by Śrī Kṛṣṇa; gatvā — went; gajāhvayam — to Hastināpura; sāntvayāmāsa — [and] consoled [alleviated the suffering of (santāpadūrīkṛtavān)181]; pitaram — his uncle [Dhṛtarāṣṭra182]; ca — and; gāndhārīm — [his aunt] Gāndhārī; tapasvinīm — who was greatly anguished [by the death of her sons (putra-maraṇena santāpavatīm)183].
Translation
Thereafter, Yudhiṣṭhira, accompanied by Śrī Kṛṣṇa, went to Hastināpura and consoled his uncle [Dhṛtarāṣṭra] and his aunt, Gāndhārī, who was greatly anguished by the death of her sons.
