SB 1.8.10

अभिद्रवति मामीश शरस्तप्तायसो विभो ।
कामं दहतु मां नाथ मा मे गर्भो निपात्यताम् ॥ १० ॥
abhidravati mām īśa śaras taptāyaso vibho
kāmaṁ dahatu māṁ nātha mā me garbho nipātyatām

Synonyms

īśa — O Lord [O You, who are the Immanent Self of all beings (sarvāntar-yāmiṇas tava), implying, “What need is there for us to inform You of anything?” (kim asmābhir vijñāpanīyam)32]; vibho — O Omnipotent One [implying, “What indeed is impossible for You, who are naturally endowed with all competence?” (samarthasya tava kim aśakyam)]; tapta — a red-hot; ayasaḥ — iron [lauha-mayaḥ33]; śaraḥ — arrow [or missile (śalyaḥ)34]; abhidravati — is rushing [abhimukham āyāti35]; mām — toward me; nātha — O Guardian [implying, “What need is there for lengthy appeals to You, who are already wholeheartedly intent on the protection of Your devotees out of Your innate sense of guardianship?” (svāmitvāt sva-bhakta-rakṣāṁ kariṣyasyeva kiṁ bahu-prārthanayeti bhāvena)]; dahatu — let it burn; mām — me; kāmam — if it so pleases You [yatheṣṭam36]; [but]; mā nipātyatām — let it not destroy; me garbhaḥ — the child in my womb.

Translation

O Lord! O Omnipotent One! A red-hot iron arrow is rushing toward me. O Guardian, let it burn me if it so pleases You, but let it not destroy the child in my womb.
