गायन्माद्यन्निदं तन्त्र्या रमयत्यातुरं जगत् ॥ ३९ ॥
gāyan mādyann idaṁ tantryā ramayaty āturaṁ jagat
Synonyms
aho — Oh! [expressing wonder (vismayaṁ prakāśayan āha)185]; ayam — this; devarṣiḥ — divine sage; dhanyaḥ — [is] indeed blessed [(kṛtārtha eva);186 here, the fortune of the singer of Hari’s glories is being eulogized (hari-kathā-gāyaka-bhāgyaṁ ślāghate)187]; yat — because [yataḥ]; [he (saḥ)188]; mādyan — [being] enraptured [hṛṣyan189]; gāyan — [while] singing; kīrtim — the glories; śārṅga-dhanvanaḥ — of He who wields the bow known as śārṅga [Śrī Kṛṣṇa]; tantryā — [accompanied] by his vīṇā [vīṇayā]; ramayati — delights [sukhayati]; idam — this; jagat — entire world [sarvaṁ jagad api]; āturam — [which is] afflicted [(vyākulam) by the threefold miseries (tāpa-trayeṇa)].
Translation
Oh! This divine sage is indeed blessed, because he, being enraptured while singing the glories of Śrī Kṛṣṇa to the accompaniment of his vīṇā, delights this entire world, which is afflicted by the threefold miseries.
