Translation

With the permission of the twice-born brāhmaṇas, I once ate the remnants of whatever food was left on their plates, and by doing so, all my defilements were removed. Being thus engaged in their service, I became pure in mind, and a heartfelt attraction arose in me for their dharma [of bhakti] alone.
