त एव वेदा दुर्मेधैर्धार्यन्ते पुरुषैर्यथा ।
एवं चकार भगवान्व्यासः कृपणवत्सलः ॥ २४ ॥

ta eva vedā durmedhair dhāryante puruṣair yathā
evaṁ cakāra bhagavān vyāsaḥ kṛpaṇa-vatsalaḥ
evaṁ cakāra bhagavān vyāsaḥ kṛpaṇa-vatsalaḥ
Synonyms
bhagavān — the venerable; vyāsaḥ — Vyāsa; kṛpaṇa-vatsalaḥ — [out of] affection for the helpless [(dīna-jana-snigdhaḥ);96 out of compassion alone (kevala-kṛpayaiva)97]; cakāra — presented; te eva — all these; vedāḥ — Vedas; evam — in such a manner [tathā98]; yathā — by which; dhāryante — they could be easily assimilated; durmedhaiḥ — by less intelligent [alpa-medhaiḥ99]; puruṣaiḥ — people [just as they had previously been assimilated by those of highly refined intellect (ye pūrvam ati-medhāvibhir dhāryante)100].
Translation
Bhagavān Vyāsa, out of affection for the helpless, presented all these Vedas in such a manner that they could be easily assimilated by less intelligent people.
