SB 1.3.26

अवतारा ह्यसङ्ख्येया हरेः सत्त्वनिधेर्द्विजाः ।
यथाविदासिनः कुल्याः सरसः स्युः सहस्रशः ॥ २६ ॥
avatārā hy asaṅkhyeyā hareḥ sattva-nidher dvijāḥ
yathāvidāsinaḥ kulyāḥ sarasaḥ syuḥ sahasraśaḥ

Synonyms

dvijāḥ — O twice-born brāhmaṇas; yathā — just as; sahasraśaḥ — thousands; kulyāḥ — [of] streams [(alpa-pravāhāḥ);121 (kṣudra-nadyaḥ)122]; syuḥ — spring [(spandante); or originate (sambhavanti)123]; avidāsinaḥ — from an inexhaustible [upakṣaya-śūnyāt124]; sarasaḥ — lake; [so too (tad-vat)]; hi — indeed [indicating a well-known fact (prasiddhau)125]; asaṅkhyeyāḥ — countless; avatārāḥ — divine manifestations of God; [proceed (syuḥ, pravartante)126]; hareḥ — from Bhagavān Hari [from Bhagavān Aniruddha]; sattva-nidheḥ — [who is] the repository [or the direct embodiment] of unalloyed being [(śuddha-sattva-mūrteḥ); or the treasury of the potency that enables His own self-manifestation (sattvasya sva-prādurbhāva-śakteḥ śevadhi-rūpasya)127].

Translation

O twice-born brāhmaṇas, just as thousands of streams spring from an inexhaustible lake, so too indeed, countless divine manifestations of God (avatāras) proceed from Bhagavān Hari, who is the repository [or the direct embodiment] of unalloyed being [śuddha-sattva].
