SB 1.2.27

रजस्तमःप्रकृतयः समशीला भजन्ति वै ।
पितृभूतप्रजेशादीन्श्रियैश्वर्यप्रजेप्सवः ॥ २७ ॥
rajas-tamaḥ-prakṛtayaḥ sama-śīlā bhajanti vai
pitṛ-bhūta-prajeśādīn śriyaiśvarya-prajepsavaḥ

Synonyms

prakṛtayaḥ — those whose nature [svabhāvo yeṣāṁ te122]; rajaḥ — [is of] the qualitative essence of the urge to action and the coloring by desire; tamaḥ — [or of] the qualitative essence of indolence and darkness; sama-śīlāḥ — [and] whose character is thus accordant [with the forefathers and so on (pitṛādibhiḥ samaṁ śīlaṁ yeṣām), on account of which correspondence of character, they are disposed toward their worship (sama-śīlatvād eva tad-bhajane pravṛtti)123]; bhajanti — worship; vai — only; pitṛ — the forefathers [headed by their chief, Aryamā124]; bhūta — the spirit entities [headed by their Lord, Rudra125]; prajeśa — the progenitors [headed by their ruler, Hiraṇyagarbha (Brahmā)126]; ādīn — and others [the gods in general (saṅkīrṇa-devatāḥ), including Sarasvatī and so on127]; īpsavaḥ — being covetous [āptum icchanti128]; aiśvarya — [of] power; prajā — [and] progeny; śriyā — combined with wealth [śriyeti sahārthe tṛtīyā129].

Translation

Those whose natures are of the qualitative essence of rajas and tamas and whose character is thus accordant [with the forefathers and so on], worship only the forefathers, the spirit entities, the progenitors, and others, being covetous of power and progeny combined with wealth.
