सत्त्वं विशुद्धं क्षेमाय कल्पन्ते येऽनु तानिह ॥ २५ ॥
sattvaṁ viśuddhaṁ kṣemāya kalpante ye’nu tān iha
Synonyms
atha — consequently [for the reason just stated (ato hetoḥ)113]; agre — from time immemorial [pūrva kāle114]; munayaḥ — the sages [the contemplatives (manana-śīlāḥ), who by hearing from śāstra and guru, have determined sattva-tanu Bhagavān alone as the ultimate object of worship (tasya bhajanīyatvaṁ niścitya)115]; bhejire — have worshiped; bhagavantam — Bhagavān; adhokṣajam — Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is beyond the purview of the senses; viśuddham-sattvam — [and] the direct embodiment of unalloyed being [(viśuddha-sattv-ātmaka-mūrtim), situated beyond material sattva (prākṛta-sattvātītam);116 or the direct embodiment of the conscious potency that is intrinsic to His essential nature (svarūpa-bhūtā cic-chaktir eva tanmayam)117]; ye — those who; anu — follow [anuvartante]; tān — them; [te’pi] kalpante — also become eligible; kṣemāya — for the ultimate good [meaning liberation (mokṣāya)]; iha — in this world [saṁsāre].
Translation
Consequently, from time immemorial the sages have worshiped Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is beyond the purview of the senses (adhokṣaja) and the direct embodiment of unalloyed being (viśuddha-sattva). Those who follow in their footsteps also become eligible to attain the ultimate good in this world.
