SB 1.19.36

अन्यथा तेऽव्यक्तगतेर्दर्शनं नः कथं नृणाम् ।
नितरां म्रियमाणानां संसिद्धस्य वनीयसः ॥ ३६ ॥
anyathā te’vyakta-gater darśanaṁ naḥ kathaṁ nṛṇām
nitarāṁ mriyamāṇānāṁ saṁsiddhasya vanīyasaḥ

Synonyms

anyathā — otherwise [without Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s mercy (śrī kṛṣṇa-prasādaṁ vinā);268 or in the absence of Bhagavān’s being pleased with me (bhagavataḥ prīty abhāve)269]; katham — how; darśanam — [can] the vision; te — of you [tava]; avyakta-gateḥ — whose mode of being is undisclosed [whose conduct is undiscernible to worldly conditioned beings (saṁsārikair alakṣya gateḥ); or whose movements are unknown (ajñāta-gamanasya)270]; saṁsiddhasya — [who are] established in complete perfection [(samyak-siddhasya);271 or whose objectives are already utterly fulfilled by virtue of the immediate intuition of Brahman (brahma-jñānitayā kṛta-kṛtyasya)272]; vanīyasaḥ — [and who are] most munificent [who, out of the superlative degree of munificence, are preeminent in the matter of impelling others to request their most cherished aim (vanayitā yācayitā vanayitṛ-tamo vaniyān);273 or who reside exclusively in the forest (atiśayena vana-vāsinaḥ)]; [be possible (syāt)274]; nṛṇām — for ordinary human beings [saṁsāriṇām]; nitarām — [and] especially [tatrāpi]; naḥ — for those like us [asmākam]; mriyamāṇānām — who are about to die [āsanna-mṛtyūnām275].

Translation

Otherwise [without Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s mercy], how can the vision of you—whose mode of being is undisclosed, who are established in complete perfection, and who are most munificent—be possible for ordinary human beings, and especially for those like us who are about to die?
