SB 1.19.29

स विष्णुरातोऽतिथय आगताय तस्मै सपर्यां शिरसाजहार ।
ततो निवृत्ता ह्यबुधाः स्त्रियोऽर्भका महासने सोपविवेश पूजितः ॥ २९ ॥
sa viṣṇu-rāto’tithaya āgatāya
tasmai saparyāṁ śirasājahāra
tato nivṛttā hy abudhāḥ striyo’rbhakā
mahāsane sopaviveśa pūjitaḥ

Synonyms

tasmai — unto that; atithaye — guest [lit., “unto the one who is without any predetermined time of arrival” (āgamane niyata-kāla-rahitaḥ tasmai);226 Śrī Śukadeva227]; āgatāya — who had just arrived; saḥ — he; viṣṇu-rātaḥ — Parīkṣit; ājahāra — offered [or performed (cakāra)]; saparyām — homage [or worship (pūjām)]; śirasā — by bowing his head [(praṇāmenaiva);228 meaning that he surrendered his very self unconditionally unto him (ātma-nivedanaṁ kṛtavān)229]; tataḥ — then; striyaḥ — the women; arbhakāḥ — [and] children; abudhāḥ hi — who were indeed ignorant [of Śukadeva’s greatness]; nivṛttāḥ — withdrew from his side [pratinivṛttā babhūvuḥ]; saḥ — [while] he; pūjitaḥ — having been reverentially received; upaviveśa — accepted [lit., “sat down upon”]; mahā-āsane — the seat of honor [or the seat that was of great honor, having been ceremoniously offered by the king (mahati rājñā samarpite āsane)].

Translation

Unto that guest [Śrī Śukadeva], who had just arrived, Parīkṣit offered homage by bowing his head. Then, the women and children, who were indeed ignorant [of Śukadeva’s greatness], withdrew from his side, while he, having been reverentially received, accepted the seat of honor.
