चार्वायताक्षोन्नसतुल्यकर्ण सुभ्र्वाननं कम्बुसुजातकण्ठम् ॥ २६ ॥
karoru-bāhv-aṁsa-kapola-gātram
cārv-āyatākṣonnasa-tulya-karṇa-
subhrv-ānanaṁ kambu-sujāta-kaṇṭham
Synonyms
tam205 — he; dvi-aṣṭa-varṣam — [was] sixteen years old [lit., “twice-eight years of age” (dvi-guṇāny aṣṭau varṣāṇi yasya)206]; pāda — [and his] feet; kara — hands; ūru — thighs; bāhu — arms; aṁsa — shoulders; kapola — cheeks; gātram — [and] body; su-kumāra — [were all] exquisitely delicate [komalāni207]; ānanam — [his] face [was radiant (śobhanam ānanaṁ yasya)208]; cāru — [with] beautiful [sundare209]; āyata — elongated [viśāle210]; akṣa — eyes [akṣinī]; unnasa — a raised nose [unnatā nāsā]; tulya — symmetrical [(samau);211 without any disproportion, such as being too long or too short (lamba-hrasvādi-vaiṣamyaṁ vinā)]; karṇa — ears [karnau]; subhru — [and] captivating eyebrows [śobhane bhruvau]; kaṇṭham — [his] neck; sujāta — [was] elegantly shaped [suṣṭhu-jātaḥ]; kambu — [being gracefully rounded and marked with three lines like] a conch [kambu-vac chaṅkha-vad-vartula rekhā-trayopetaś ca kaṇṭho yasya212].
Translation
He was sixteen years old and his feet, hands, thighs, arms, shoulders, cheeks, and body were all exquisitely delicate. His face was radiant with beautiful elongated eyes, a raised nose, symmetrical ears, and captivating eyebrows. His neck was elegantly shaped, being gracefully rounded and marked with three lines like a conch.
