SB 1.19.20

न वा इदं राजर्षिवर्य चित्रं भवत्सु कृष्णं समनुव्रतेषु ।
येऽध्यासनं राजकिरीटजुष्टं सद्यो जहुर्भगवत्पार्श्वकामाः ॥ २० ॥
na vā idaṁ rājarṣi-varya citraṁ
bhavatsu kṛṣṇaṁ samanuvrateṣu
ye’dhyāsanaṁ rāja-kirīṭa-juṣṭaṁ
sadyo jahur bhagavat-pārśva-kāmāḥ

Synonyms

rājarṣi-varya — O foremost of saintly kings; idam — this [prayer of yours that we may go on singing the narrations of Bhagavān (bhagavat-kathā-prārthanam)149]; na vā citram — is not at all surprising [āścaryaṁ naiva bhavati]; bhavatsu — for you [for all of you who belong to the Pāṇḍu dynasty (pāṇḍor vaṁśyeṣu)150]; samanuvrateṣu — who are perpetually devoted [(nityam anuvartiṣu);151 (sevakeṣu)]; kṛṣṇam — to Śrī Kṛṣṇa; ye — [and] who; bhagavat-pārśva-kāmāḥ — out of eagerness to attain Bhagavān’s association [here also implying out of eagerness to attain proximity to Him (atra tat-sāmīpya kāmanāpi vyākhyeyā)152]; sadyaḥ — at once [without delay or procrastination (kāla-kṣepa-rāhitya dyotanārthaḥ sadyaḥ śabdaḥ)153]; jahuḥ — abandoned [(tatyajuḥ); referring to Yudhiṣṭhira and his brothers in addition to Parīkṣit (ye jahur iti yudhiṣṭhirādy abhiprāyeṇa)154]; adhyāsanam — the imperial throne [sārvabhauma-siṁhāsanam]; juṣṭam — that was honored [or served (sevitam)]; rāja-kirīṭa — [by] the crowns of innumerable kings.

Translation

O foremost of saintly kings, this [prayer of yours] is not at all surprising for you, who are perpetually devoted to Śrī Kṛṣṇa, and who, out of eagerness to attain Bhagavān’s association, at once abandoned the imperial throne that was honored by the crowns of innumerable kings.
