SB 1.19.18

एवं च तस्मिन्नरदेवदेवे प्रायोपविष्टे दिवि देवसङ्घाः ।
प्रशस्य भूमौ व्यकिरन्प्रसूनैर्मुदा मुहुर्दुन्दुभयश्च नेदुः ॥ १८ ॥
evaṁ ca tasmin nara-deva-deve
prāyopaviṣṭe divi deva-saṅghāḥ
praśasya bhūmau vyakiran prasūnair
mudā muhur dundubhayaś ca neduḥ

evam ca — in this manner [ittham139]; tasmin — [when] that; nara-deva-deve — foremost of kings [Parīkṣit (nara-devānāṁ deve parīkṣiti)]; prāya-upaviṣṭe [sati] — sat down with a vow to fast until death; deva-saṅghāḥ — groups of devas; divi — in the sky [or present in heaven (svarge vartamānāḥ)140]; praśasya — praised [prastūya]; [him (tam)]; mudā — [and] out of great joy [harṣeṇa141]; vyakiran — showered [him (vṛṣṭim akurvan)142]; prasūnaiḥ — with flowers [kusumaiḥ]; bhūmau — [that rained] upon the earth; ca — while; dundubhayaḥ — drums; neduḥ — were sounded [(vāditāḥ) by the groups of devas (deva-saṅghāiḥ);143 or resounded simply by themselves (neduḥ svayam eva)144]; muhuḥ — continuously [punaḥ punaḥ].

Translation

In this manner, when that foremost of kings [Parīkṣit] sat down with a vow to fast until death, groups of devas in the sky praised him and, out of great joy, showered him with flowers that rained upon the earth, while drums were sounded continuously.
