SB 1.19.15

तं मोपयातं प्रतियन्तु विप्रा गङ्गा च देवी धृतचित्तमीशे ।
द्विजोपसृष्टः कुहकस्तक्षको वा दशत्वलं गायत विष्णुगाथाः ॥ १५ ॥
taṁ mopayātaṁ pratiyantu viprā
gaṅgā ca devī dhṛta-cittam īśe
dvijopasṛṣṭaḥ kuhakas takṣako vā
daśatv alaṁ gāyata viṣṇu-gāthāḥ

Synonyms

viprāḥ — O brāhmaṇas [he viprāḥ113]; [may you (bhavantaḥ)]; ca — as well as; devī — goddess [devatā-rūpā114]; gaṅgā — Gaṅgā; pratiyantu — know [(jānantu); or accept (aṅgī-kurvantu)115]; mā — me [mām116]; tam — of such disposition [of the type previously described (ukta-vidham)]; upayātam — as a surrendered soul [śaraṇāgatam117]; cittam — [whose] mind; dhṛta — is fixed; īśe — on Bhagavān [bhagavati]; dvija-upasṛṣṭaḥ — being impelled by the brāhmaṇa [(dvijena pracoditaḥ); meaning by the brāhmaṇa child (dvija-kumāreṇa preritaḥ)118]; kuhakaḥ — [let] some illusionist [(vismāpakaḥ); or a fraud donning a disguise (veṣāntara-dhārī kapaṭī)119]; [deceive me (mā, i.e., māṁ vañcayatu)]; vā — or [the word vā here indicates complete disregard for any effort to counteract such eventualities (vā śabdaḥ pratikriyānādare)120]; takṣakaḥ — [let] the snake Takṣaka; [māṁ121] daśatu — bite me [bhakṣayatu122]; [but (kintu)]; gāyata — [please just] go on singing [or relating (kathayata)]; viṣṇu-gāthāḥ — the narrations of Bhagavān Viṣṇu [viṣṇor kathāḥ]; alam123 — without end [extensively (aty artham);124 or until I give up this body (deha-viyoga-paryantam)125].

Translation

O brāhmaṇas, may you as well as Gaṅgā Devī know me, of such disposition, as a surrendered soul, whose mind is fixed on Bhagavān. Being impelled by the brāhmaṇa, let some illusionist deceive me or let the snake Takṣaka bite me, but please just go on singing the narrations of Bhagavān Viṣṇu without end.
