SB 1.18.38

ततोऽभ्येत्याश्रमं बालो गले सर्पकलेवरम् ।
पितरं वीक्ष्य दुःखार्तो मुक्तकण्ठो रुरोद ह ॥ ३८ ॥
tato’bhyetyāśramaṁ bālo gale sarpa-kalevaram
pitaraṁ vīkṣya duḥkhārto mukta-kaṇṭho ruroda ha

Synonyms

tataḥ — thereafter [after thus uttering his curse (evaṁ śāpa-dānānantaram)310]; [when]; bālaḥ — the boy; abhyetya — returned [āgatya311]; āśramam — to the hermitage; vīkṣya — [and] saw [dṛṣṭvā312]; pitaram — [his] father; sarpa-kalevaram — [with] the snake’s dead body [sarpa-śarīram313]; gale — [draped] around his neck [kaṇṭha-sthita314]; ruroda ha — he cried [rodanaṁ kṛtavān315]; mukta-kaṇṭhaḥ — loudly [uccaiḥ316]; duḥkha-ārtaḥ — out of sorrow [being afflicted by sorrow (duḥkhenārtaḥ pīḍitaḥ)317].

Translation

Thereafter, when the boy returned to the hermitage and saw his father with the snake’s dead body draped around his neck, he cried loudly out of sorrow.
