Translation
One day, King Parīkṣit took up his bow and wandered throughout the forest on a hunting expedition. In the course of pursuing the stags, he became inordinately fatigued, hungry, and thirsty. Being unable to detect any source of water, he entered a celebrated hermitage where he saw a sage [Śamīka] sitting perfectly tranquil with closed eyes.
