SB 1.16.7

क्षुद्रायुषां नृणामङ्ग मर्त्यानामृतमिच्छताम् ।
इहोपहूतो भगवान्मृत्युः शामित्रकर्मणि ॥ ७ ॥
kṣudrāyuṣāṁ nṛṇām aṅga martyānām ṛtam icchatām
ihopahūto bhagavān mṛtyuḥ śāmitra-karmaṇi

Synonyms

aṅga — O Dear [Sūta26]; nṛṇām — for those human beings; kṣudra-āyuṣām — [who although] short-lived [alpam āyur yeṣām27]; [and hence (ataḥ)]; martyānām — destined for death [maraṇa-dharmavatām]; [nonetheless (tathāpi)]; icchatām — desire; ṛtam — the Ultimate Truth [(satyam) or liberation (mokṣam); or the Supreme Truth, Śrī Bhagavān (parama-satyaṁ śrī bhagavantam);28 or the ontologically Real Existent, Śrī Kṛṣṇa (satya-vastu śrī kṛṣṇam)29]; bhagavān — the god; mṛtyuḥ — of death [Yamarāja]; upahūtaḥ — has been summoned; iha — here [to the sacrificial arena (satre)]; śāmitra-karmaṇi — to carry out the act of immolation [or the act of sacrificing the animal (paśu-himsanaṁ tad-artham)].

Translation

O Dear [Sūta], for those human beings who, although short-lived and hence destined for death, nonetheless desire the Ultimate Truth, the god of death [Yamarāja] has been summoned here to carry out the act of immolation.
