अन्तरोऽनन्तरो भाति पश्य तं माययोरुधा ॥ ४७ ॥
antaro’nantaro bhāti paśya taṁ māyayorudhā
Synonyms
tat — therefore [tasmāt157]; rājan — O King; paśya — recognize; [sarvam158] idam — all this [visible world of inert matter and conscious beings (paridṛśyamānaṁ jaḍa-cetanātmakaṁ jagat);159 due to its being a transformation of Bhagavān’s potency (bhagavac-chakti-kāryatvāt)]; tam — [as] Him; sva-dṛk — the self-effulgent [sva-prakāśaḥ]; bhagavān — Bhagavān; ekaḥ — [who although] one; ātmā — as the Immanent Self [antaryāmi-rūpeṇa]; ātmanām — of all living beings [jīvānām]; bhāti — manifests; urudhā — as many [bahudhā]; māyayā — by His transrational māyā potency [durvitarkya-śaktyā160]; antaraḥ — [appearing] internally [as the individuated subjects of worldly experience (bhoktṛ-rūpeṇa jīvaḥ)]; anantaraḥ — [and] externally [as the objects to be enjoyed or experienced in the form of pleasure and pain (bahir-bhogya-rūpeṇa sukha-duḥkhādi)].
Translation
Therefore, O King, recognize all this as Him, the self-effulgent Bhagavān, who, although one as the Immanent Self of all living beings, manifests as many by His transrational māyā potency, appearing internally [as the individuated subjects of worldly experience] and externally [as the objects of experience].
