तस्य प्रीतमना राजा विप्रैर्धौम्यकृपादिभिः ।
जातकं कारयामास वाचयित्वा च मङ्गलम् ॥ १३ ॥

tasya prīta-manā rājā viprair dhaumya-kṛpādibhiḥ
jātakaṁ kārayām āsa vācayitvā ca maṅgalam

Synonyms
prīta-manāḥ — pleased at heart [hṛṣṭaṁ mano yasya saḥ38]; rājā — the king; vācayitvā — arranged for the chanting; maṅgalam — [of] auspicious hymns [puṇyāham39]; vipraiḥ — by the brāhmaṇas; dhaumya-kṛpādibhiḥ — headed by Dhaumya and Kṛpa; ca — and; kārayāmāsa — administered; jātakam — the birth ceremony [jāta-karma40]; tasya — of him [Parīkṣit].
Translation
Pleased at heart, the king arranged for auspicious hymns to be chanted by the brāhmaṇas, headed by Dhaumya and Kṛpa, and administered the birth ceremony of Parīkṣit.
